Ford Edge for China caught testing in Michigan

Photographers have captured the next-generation Ford Edge for China undergoing testing completely undisguised in Dearborn, Mich.

The pictures offer clear views of what appear to be significant styling changes to the midsize crossover. The front features slimmer headlights connected by a horizontal light bar, similar to the design of the freshened Escape revealed in October.

The vehicle appears to have a more boxy silhouette compared with the current model and features flush-mounted door handles on both the front and rear doors. Chinese characters for Changan Ford, the automaker’s joint venture there, can be seen on the rear liftgate.

Photos of the next-generation Edge first appeared in August after the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology posted them to its website. Similar photos of the next-generation Lincoln Nautilus were posted by the government agency in November.
