Andreas Tetzloff is the new president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada, effective Oct. 1, the automaker said Friday.
Tetzloff, 50, succeeds Eva Wiese, 47, who has been appointed managing director of Mercedes-Benz Customer Solutions GmbH, in Germany. The unit focuses on the development and sale of brand original accessories and collectors’ products.
Wiese became Mercedes-Benz Canada’s first woman CEO on Feb. 1, 2021.
The automaker’s sales rose 2.4 per cent in 2021 under Wiese. They were up another 7.4 per cent through the first six months of 2022, according to the Automotive News Research and Data Center.
“Eva’s collaborative approach has helped manage the business through an extremely volatile environment, including COVID-19, inventory shortages and supply chain complications,” Dimitris Psillakis, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, said in a statement. “Eva has also established a strong and trusting relationship with our national dealer network.”
Tetzloff will assume overall responsibility for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Benz vans in Canada. He will lead a nationwide network of 59 authorized dealerships and 250 employees in Canada.
Tetzloff joined Mercedes-Benz AG in 1992. Among other positions, he’s been commercial director of HR and finance at the automaker’s dealer group — Mercedes-Benz Own Retail — in Frankfurt. He was then sales director in Berlin in 2008.
After serving as managing director of Porsche in Hamburg from 2011-2014, Tetzloff served as managing director at one of the largest dealership groups in Germany from 2015-2019.
He returned to Mercedes-Benz Own Retail as sales director in Rhine-Main, the largest sales territory in Germany.
Since March 2022, Tetzloff has been leading Mercedes-Benz Russia.
