The new turbocharged 2.4-litre I-4 is rated at 265 hp and 310 pound-feet of torque, compared to the outgoing V-6’s rating of 295 hp and 263 pound-feet of torque. Stop/start now comes standard.
Inside the cabin, a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster will come standard on Limited and Platinum grades, pairing with those trim levels’ 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
The 2023 Toyota Highlander is expected to begin arriving in dealerships this month, and will come in only all-wheel-drive in Canada — front-wheel drive is available in the United States. Standard and hybrid powertrains are available in both countries. Pricing in Canada hasn’t been announced, but it will start at US$37,755, including shipping, in the United States, Toyota said.
Toyota offers 16 trims in all-wheel drive in the United States, but only 15 in Canada. While the vehicle starts with a base L trim south of the border, Canadian offerings start one level higher with the LE grade.
